During the first weeks of school students wrote and illustrated a flip book about themselves using a model text as a guide. Students also draw pictures of themselves on a paper phone provided for the activity. Once the books were finished and checked by the teacher/student, students read to books to the class to get to know their peers better.

Grade 2, Unit 5: Changing Seasons.

GAME 5: Seasons is an interactive lesson, designed to teach kids about the four seasons of the year. Kids will be made familiar with spring, summer, autumn and winter, and their chief characteristics. The lesson is followed by 4 exercises. In the first exercise, kids will learn to identify seasons through a simple labeling exercise. The second exercise will test kids' knowledge of each season through a question-answer round. In the third exercise, kids have to identify the odd picture. The fourth exercise will help kids learn the order of the seasons.
